Saumy Kumar Pandey has been named as Uday Saharan’s deputy for the 2024 ICC Under-19 World Cup in South Africa. The BCCI announced the India squad for the U19 World Cup on Tuesday.
The BCCI on Tuesday announced the India squad for the ICC Under-19 World Cup and a tri-series involving England and South Africa. Uday Saharan has been named captain of the India U19 team, who will look to defend the World Cup they won two years ago in West Indies. Saumy Kumar Pandey has been named as the vice-captain.
The tri-series will commence on 29 December and the final will be played on 10 January, 2024. The 2024 U19 World Cup gets underway on 19 January, with India facing Bangladesh in their campaign opener a day later in Bloemfontein. That will be followed by their next two group games against Ireland (25 January) and USA (28 January). The 2024 U19 World Cup final will be held in Benoni on 11 February.
