‘Animal’ The Ranbir Kapoor starrer collects Rs 737 crore; becomes the actor’s highest grosser film
andeep Reddy Vanga’s ‘Animal’ has been making some record-breaking collections at the box office ever since its release. Within 10 days, the film entered the Rs 700 crore club at the global box office.
Now, the film has collected Rs 737 crore on its day 11 at the global box office. While it is the third highest grossing Indian film worldwide this year, it is Ranbir’s highest grosser film.
On Tuesday, the official X (Formerly Twitter) account of the Sandeep Reddy Vanga film shared the latest figures on the worldwide box office collection, with the caption: “Rewriting Box-office Records.” The new update shared a poster of Ranbir Kapoor from the film, with the text, “11th day worldwide gross Rs 737.98 cr.”
“Animal,” despite its undeniable success at the box office, has stirred a polarizing response, facing criticism for allegedly promoting misogyny and toxic masculinity. The film revolves around the life of Ranbir’s character, Rannvijay Singh, who discovers an assassination plot against his father, Balbir Singh (played by Anil Kapoor), and embarks on a journey of revenge.
The controversy surrounding the film centers on its portrayal of certain themes and characters, with some critics arguing that it perpetuates negative stereotypes related to gender and masculinity. The film’s success at the box office is juxtaposed with the discussions and debates it has sparked regarding its social and cultural implications. As with any work of art, the reception of “Animal” remains subjective, with audiences expressing diverse opinions on its content and messaging.
‘Animal’ also stars Bobby Deol, Rashmika Mandanna, Charu Shankar, Triptii Dimri and others. The film locked horns with Vicky Kaushal starrer ‘Sam Bahadur’ at the box office.
